-- Frankie Kazarian asked for his release from TNA at the last set of television tapings because he's been frustrated with the creative direction for his character, Suicide. Management initially agreed to grant him the release, but AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels soothed over the situation and his release was never finalized. (source: prowrestling.NET)
Well I must say this is quite interesting. I guess Kaz finally has grown tired of the Suicide gimmick which in my opinion should have ended months ago. The gimmick was supposed to be to help promote the release of the TNA Impact video game which is well over a year in the past, so why do they insist on continuing to use the Suicide character? If Daniels and AJ stepped up to try to help the situation and persuade Kaz to stay, will this finally open TNA management's eyes and make them realize that Kaz is not happy with the way he is being used and it is time to retire the Suicide character? Thoughts?

It's a hard thing to say, I mean I hope that TNA would realise that the Suicide character is stale and lame... But will they? Thats another question, I personally hope that Suicide is retired and Frankie Kazarian can return to TNA.
The Suicide character has more than done its job, now it is just holding back Kaz from his true potential, he is a great athlete, I think it is about time TNA allow him to show it as himself not some video game character.

Considering Kaz was getting a decent push (ppv main event for the title in a triple threat once I seem to remember) only to be made into a ridiculous character to promote a video game seems wrong. Yeah, Suicide might have been a good idea (not the best name choice in the wrestling industry, but whatver), but should've ended a while ago. Could've been a big lucha fest with a title vs. mask or something, Suicide loses and it's Kaz, resulting in some kind of push. Dude isn't mind blowing, but he is talented and worth keeping around. Maybe this will convince TNA to drop the gimmick. I'm not the hugest (word?) fan, but even the people who do dig the character gotta be seeing that it's not really going anywhere. Also, this:

Kaz is a very talented Wrestler and had some great matches with Angle and Cage before this gimmick change. I was at Slammiversary and the Suicide character got booed when he won the X division King of The Mountain. That should have been the end right there.

I don't mind the character itself, I do think the name is a bit silly - Suicide is not a 'cool' thing, its a serious issue and the character kind of mocks it, in a way.
I guess Homicide was taken, but why not Genocide, funnily enough I think the mindless killing of thousands would be considered less offensive than the killing of oneself when it comes to this kind of media
The character should not exist anymore, that much is true - its appeal has worn off, if it had much to begin with... and Kaz should be able to be himself, with a gimmick suiting him, so he can truly express himself in the ring.
One other thing.
Who decided on the colors for that costume? Blue and Red is not menacing to me, it (as the video showed) screams out SPIDERMAN, and also SUPERMAN... both HEROES - not dark enigmatic beings.
I hope TNA realizes that they almost lost a great wrestler with this little exchange.
Seriously if Kaz did leave I'd be sad, b/c he's one of my favorites.
TNA needs to look at this and realize that they need to drop the Suicide gimmick and let Kaz be Kaz and do what he does best.
Let Kaz own the X-Division (they don't necessarily have to give him the belt they never did b4 expect once while he was Kaz not Suicide), and then move him up to ME.

I can understand why he would want to leave. Yet another older star comes into the company and gets more focus than the guys who have been around in TNA for years. The majority of the TNA midcard gets looked over for these big signings who never seem to do much for business since the IMPACT rating has been stagnant for years.
Good to see that Styles and Daniels supported him and wanted him there but now creative have to use him. Suicide is such a dumb gimmick for wrestling, or for anything really, TNA have no heart using that as a way to make them money. Kaz looked like the next big thing after the ladder match with Christian last year but then injury and a crap gimmick messed that momentum up. Get rid of Suicide and bring back Kaz.
After he left TNA for WWE in 2005 and he came back to TNA, i noticed the biggest transormation in a wrestler, i had never seen it before. Kaz came back with all these sick moves and continously got the biggest pops in the company. Look at his matches in end of 2007 till victory road 2008. This guy is a future champ. I hope TNA makes a big fuss when he returns and drops the suicide gimmick. It's a crime.
