Why did wwe have to take off kanes mask. Kane looked so much more epic in it and since the day he took his mask off... well.. his matches werent all that to me. Their just decent now for sum reason. But back when he didnt take his mask off.. he had sum epic matches...

Honestly, the day and the first like, five feuds Kane had after he took his mask off were much better then when he had it on during that time period. Things have to change with the times, and dont get me wrong, I love masked Kane. But cant always have the same gimmick you know? Though, if wwe put the mask back on Kane now, that might freshen him up some. However, it doesnt matter too much to me because I just like to watch Kane perform no matter what.

Kane is still doing the same thing he has always done. His matches weren't all that good with the mask, he had some good matches with the mask without the mask he has had some bad matches and some good matches. It really doesn't make much of a difference to see Kane with a mask or without, either way he is still a monster just with out a mask. I think the mask just made him look like he was a serious looking competitor, rather seeing Kane have to different coloured eyes, a shaved head, and over all it doesn't seem to work for Kane. Anyways the whole point is that it doesn't really matter if Kane is wearing a mask or not, he is still doing the same thing he has always done, and that is wrestle and entertain the fans. I am sure Kane could win possible World titles but, maybe he doesn't want the title because after all its just a title that says your a world champion, big deal. Kane is a great wrestler even if he has a mask or not, Kane is still the same person doing what he has always been doing.

I preferred the mask myself because the enigmatic qualities that come with it made him so much more terrifying in my opinion. He can be just as terrifying without the mask, but just seems to not be.
To me, for Kane to be a true monster heel he needs to be dominating like he used to be... I feel he used to be a real threat to everyone just like Undertaker was/is. As he is now, he is just another big guy who seems to get easily beaten.

They could put the mask back on him, but it would have to involve him having his face damaged (Kayfabe of course!), however then they would be stuck with the mask forever again unless they pulled off some stupid "it was all in his head" thing again which would just damage his character more.

For me i feel when kane took his mask off he lost the edge that the mask had given him, Making him seem less of a monster and also he could now be made to bleed for his forhead which before couldnt be done cause of the mask, kane was always one of my fav's but these days he's just another guy on the roster to me. I'd like to see kane pushed as the monster he was he dont need a mask to be a monster but since loseing it he's become a joke

Kane is a decent wrestler at best whether with the mask or not, but with the mask it allowed him to seem like he was more of a monster and the WWE were able to portray him as a legit threat to anyone that stood in his way. I think Kane lost a lot of credibility when he was wearing his half mask and teaming with the Hurricane. Ever since the demasking of Kane he has really just become a guy that WWE can stick in a main event match purely because of his name and history with the company, Kane in my opinion is crap nowadays and should stick to the midcard. The farthest I would like to see his character go is a possible Intercontinental Championship run, no more no less.

Kane with the mask=Big Red Machine, always had to cheat to beat the bastard. A rarity to see a 'clean' win over him. Kane shortly without the mask- Still dominant, WWE still gave a Cena about him and put him over about the same as before. Had a great Triple Threat match with Goldberg and HHH for the world title.

Then came the Hardy feud, and it's been downhill ever since, except when he beat Khali of course...

Kanes character changed when he took off the mask as does most masked wrestlers sadly the writers have done nothing much with his character over the last couple of years which is a shame compare his epic battles with the undertaker to now he sadly has just become a lowercard wrestler..sad very sad

When they were doing the story about the mask in the bag gimmick I was excited that he might actually put the mask back on Kane but sadly no. I was very disappointed

I've often wondered whether the WWE will ever put Kane's mask back on...i was convinced they were going to do it last year when he had that fued with Mysterio but it turned out to be just Rey's mask.

Would it add to his character nowadays? I don't think so. He's still over and is seen as a threat, the ball is in WWEs court...or is it his personal choice?

As a fan, I always thought there was an air of mystique surrounding Kane that drained away the second his mask came off. No longer was he the same Kane, he had changed. I'm not saying that the Kane just before his mask came off was particuarly great, because he wasn't, the best Kane was the Kane from his debut until 2002. I remember watching Kane for the first time (when I was about 8 or 9) and I found him fascinating, the explosion on stage, arena goes dark and Kane appears whilst that dark, sinister music plays, I loved it. By 2002 I think that'd worn off and whilst there was still mystique surrounding him and his character, it'd dwindled over the years.

Looks like Kane *may* be getting a push. He saved his brother Taker on Smackdown last night and then a match was announced for next week on SD: JeriShow vs. BOD! This should be a great match.

This could mean a BOD tag title run eventually or it could lead to Kane screwing Taker over and the two fueding to Wrestlemania

To me the mask made Kane a monster we have never saw before. Sure we have had our King Kong Bundys and our Andres before him but the mask really made Kane look like he would kill you if he had the chance. Know he is just like every other monster WWE has had in the past.

Brothers of Destruction were face in the Invasion and on SmackDown 06 feuding with Mr. Kennedy and MVP.

Its to the most useful for Kane, thrusts him into the main event with the World Champion and the Unified Tag Champions.

If Undertaker and Kane do win the tag titles, a feud with Degeneration X would be cool.

Read somewhere that WWE has Kane in a list of candidate names to possibly end the WM streak of the Undertakers, to make him the next phenom in the WWE after UT retires.

Kane and Undertaker have faced at Mania twice before, Mania 14 and Mania 20 and would not be particularly suitable for Mania 26, Kane and UT don`t gel together, they do as a team not singles facing each other.

WM 14 and 20 were exciting matches but the UT deserves opponents who can give him great not just good matches, and MOTY standard contests.

Kanes one of my favorite wreslters, ever since I was a kid. I was only 7 when he came into the WWF and his whole gimmick was awesome. Exept for when they had him talking with a voice box, that wasnt really needed. But I hope they build up his character again and get him in some title fueds. I know he's not as fit as he used to be, but he still is a scary looking powerful dude.

Btw anyone think that smackdown was just plain bad last week? I mean they totally ruined Taker vs Y2J first meet. It wasnt too great of a match exept jericho did some cool reversals and his undertaker impression and trying for the tombstone made me lmfao. And Ziggler/morrison was a wash, double countout on something that didnt look so brutul they both couldnt get up. Mac/finlay was weird also, the fight didnt really look too "out of control" to me. And the end of the show when Kane came to save undertaker. 1 big boot to Y2J and thats it? They all looked confused out there. Like someone messed up a spot or something idk. But does anyone else think that smackdown was lackluster last friday?

One last note. I'd like to see Kane and 'Taker double chokeslam Big Show on SD this week. That would reek of awesomeness.
